In order to be employed as a Security Guard, you must complete the required training courses as mandated by the Department of State. In order to receive your New York State Security Guard License, you must first take the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment training course for security guards (our fee is $60). You will receive a certificate which you will submit with your license application to the Department of State. You are required to have your fingerprints taken electronically for your criminal background check. This is done by Morpho Trust, (http://www.morphotrust.com) for a fee of $101.25, 1-877-472-6915. There is a $36 fee, payable via money order, to the NYS Department of State. After you receive your license and are employed full-time, you are required to continue your training by taking the 16 Hour On-The-Job Training class and an 8 Hour Annual class yearly. Every two years you will need to submit $25 to New York State to renew your license.
